Top Ten Run for Butler at Concord
Saturday afternoon saw the Allison
Legacy Series visit the fastest track in their 24 race schedule,
Concord Motorsports Park, and the day produced the first top
ten of the season for Josh Butler. Josh got to test the Horizon
Technologies/Conterra Ultra Broadband Monte Carlo on Thursday
at Concord and the testing seemed to pay off. On Saturday,
the car was good during the practice session, although Josh
thought that it was a tick looser than it was during the Thursday
test and asked for a few changes to tighten the car before
qualifying. Although the changes were made, the best he could
do during qualifying was a middle of the pack 15th.
Even though the race was caution
filled, Josh stayed out of trouble and ran in the top 12 all
day, eventually coming home in a season best 9th place. The
official point standings have not been released yet; however,
we do know that Josh will move up multiple spots from his
previous 18th place position.
Josh Butler on the Concord race:
Its good to get our first top ten finish of the
year
and its good to know that we actually ran
even better than where we finished. Concord is a fast track
and there were a lot of hard wrecks
Im just happy
we came out of there in one piece. We have a race this Saturday
at Hickory and then another one right away the following Wednesday
at Florence. If we can carry the momentum from Concord over
to those two races we should be in great shape.
The Legacy Series stays close to
home this weekend with a 50 lap event at Hickory Motor Speedway
on Saturday, May 6th. After that, the series will run a rare
weekday event at Florence Motor Speedway in Timmonsville,
SC. on Wednesday May 10th. Both events will have qualifying
start around 6:00pm with the feature events taking the track
around 7:00pm. Check back for updates on how Josh finishes.
