Soggy start, solid run at Peach State

Josh started 16th in the 50 lap race and said early on that the car felt good. He was running 14th at the first caution about seven laps in and said that the car was still a little loose but felt that the car would come to him. Over the next 15 lap green flag run, the car continued to get more and more loose. On the next caution, Josh said that the backend of the car was really hanging out on him and that he was having trouble from the middle of the corner off keeping the car under him. With approx. 28 cars on the lead lap we didn’t want to bring him in for any changes so we told him to do the best he could with what he had. Josh would run between 11th and 16th over the last portion of the race, finally finishing 14th.

Overall, we were hoping for a top 10 run; however, our goal for the day was to run all of the laps and finish on the lead lap. We did both of those easily and came out of Peach State with a solid run for our second Legacy race ever.

Josh Butler on Saturday’s run: “We really thought we were going to be good after practice, because the car was just a little bit loose and I felt like that’s where we needed to be. It just got way too loose and I did everything I could just to hold on over the long runs. We keep learning about these cars and running all of the laps on Saturday was the main goal. Now Dad, Blake and the guys at BKB2 can just tweak on the car during the next two weeks to get us ready for Lonesome Pine. Peach State was a blast to drive, it was a fast, high banked ½ mile and I can’t wait to go back there in August…I feel like we will be much better when we return for that race.”

The Legacy Series takes the Easter weekend off, but will return to action on April 22 with a 50 lap race at Lonesome Pine Raceway in Coeburn, VA.
