Josh Set to Make First E-Mod Start

Finally, everyone’s schedule has worked out and Josh Butler is now set to make his first ever start in the Boardman License Bureau/Ainsley Heating & Cooling #52 E-Mod on July 30th. With a heavy asphalt schedule, and other commitments, it has been impossible for Josh to make the trip north to run the car, owned by his Uncle and Aunt…Mike & Kathy Butler. Josh will make his debut at Tri-City Speedway and, at 15, will likely be the youngest driver in the field. It will have been almost one year since Josh tested the #52 for the first time. Thanks to Dave & Lisa Blaney…and the folks at Sharon Speedway, Josh got about 50 laps in the car last year and everyone was impressed enough to feel confident about putting him on the track in race conditions. He had hoped to make it up from North Carolina several times before now; however, schedule conflicts continued to get in the way. Now the stage is set…check back in early August for the results.

Josh’s thoughts on his E-Mod debut: “I am really excited about getting back in the E-Mod and racing on dirt. I ran the quarter midget on dirt tracks, ran the Bandolero on dirt and got the chance to test the e-mod last year. It will take some getting used to…but at least I have some dirt experience to lean on. I can’t thank Uncle Mike enough for the opportunity to run his car…and for his confidence in me. I have to adjust my goals for this run, we have been working hard in the Legacy Car on qualifying and running in the top five…looking for a win. Now, our goals are simple, make the “A” main, stay out of trouble and try hard to stay on the lead lap. If we accomplish the first two it will be a really good day…if we get the last one it will be a GREAT day. I’m hoping that Blake Harris can make the trip with us…it would be great to have him work with me on this car too. We have developed a great driver/crew chief relationship and I trust him a lot…if I’m going to run this car more, I’d love for him to help set it up.”

If things go well, look for Josh to compete a couple more times in the Boardman License Bureau/Ainsley Heating & Cooling car before the season ends.
